When we first committed to launching our sixth project, Haven, we were stepping out into the unknown somewhat. We knew there was a need but we had no idea if agencies would refer, if children would come, and then, if they would stay! Well, this Summer, we conducted a review after 6 months of being in operation, and it will come as no surprise, but we couldn’t be happier with how Haven is going!
Since launching in January, Haven has worked with 37 children across the Primary and Secondary groups, and an additional 9 parents have accessed support through the Parent groups. We currently have 15 on the waiting list but are thrilled that we now have a follow on group set up with DYS Space for the secondary aged children, as when they are ready, they have a safe, supported youth group to move into, which then creates space for new children to access Haven.
We have had overwhelmingly positive feedback from the children and the parents about the difference Haven is making to them, but here are a few stats!
100% said they would like to keep coming to Haven.
97% said they had enjoyed the sessions.
81% of parents said their child had grown in confidence since attending Haven.
And 100% found the staff team friendly and approachable.
We are incredibly proud of these statistics and of all the wonderful feedback we have received. It is a privilege to know that Haven is making such a difference. A huge well done to all the Haven team.
